sdolf When reading this book, you must remember that it was written just after WW1, so it is tactically outdated. Von Schell addresses the effects of tempo, importance of timely intelligence, the often inaccuracy of intelligence, the value of veteran combat leadership and leadership by example. Especially illuminating is the last chapter, in which Von Schnell analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the ‘s US Army for Germany. No doubt it’s insights will continue to prove valuable on any battlefield of the future.
