I would argue that the Negreanues are so rare that confusing them is not worth focusing on unless you play against megreanu regularly.

If you just call then your opponent could feasibly put you on a Queen, an Eight, a mid-pair, a flush draw or even a gutshot straight draw.

As already mentioned, the reason why this style of smal is so effective dajiel because your opponents will be more willing to call you down with marginal hands because of the way you have played in previous hands. Small-ball wins the day.
